10.5.17 - BOS --> DEN
The next morning we woke, haggard and sleep deprived as much from the arduous travel as from the two crazy children, who were jet-lagged and ornery. It was all made ok though as we woke in our new Denver apartment, Team Emmy’s new base of operations for the remainder of the journey.

10.23.17 - Laying Low and Looking Back
That brings us to today. No chemo this week (thankfully), just more of a wait and see approach as we monitor her numbers and their anticipated drop. After completing a treatment run this tough she has historically needed multiple rounds of blood products (both blood and platelets) to get her through to the next step. Anticipating this, we have no intention of taking her anywhere far from the hospital.

11.10.17 - Update and VVCF and Vendetta's Pizza With a Purpose Event
Working on getting you a proper update on all things ladybug so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, check out this segment on TV8 in Vail all about our little girl and the wonderful benefit being held next Wednesday at Vendetta's in Vail Village.

11.17.17 - A Machine Called Survival
Every time we do get to pass through the threshold of our own place, there comes a moment where a certain smile crosses our little lady’s face, the special one reserved for when she is extra happy, and it melts you into a puddle right there on the spot. We could turn around and get right back in the truck, the whole journey back home made worth it in that one moment.

12.7.17 - Helpers, Hope Bringers and Home
...since we have been on this journey there have been an untold amount of people who have helped us out along the way. Everything from the incredibly generous donations, to the notes, gifts, messages, food, beverages, kind words, positive thoughts and all of it in-between. You’ve all been nothing short of amazing.

12.13.17 - Tethered Tyke
Greetings once again from the 7th floor of Children's Hospital Colorado. Today we are only here for clinic and day 3/5 of outpatient chemotherapy, not taking up residency like last week thank goodness.

1.7.18 - Kismet, Breathe, Be at Ease
We will make it, and when we do, the mountain air will be clean and crisp. The Earth and everything on it will be covered in a fresh layer of pure white that will sparkle in the golden sunlight. So clean and new, and ready for us to make whatever marks and tracks we want to in it. The sky will be a shade of blue so beautiful that there isn’t even a name for it yet.

1.9.18 - So Proud of Our Daughter
Here is the sequence: Up (early, abruptly and not by choice), screaming (usually the children), coffee if you’re lucky, short-order breakfast shift, cleaning, entertaining, cleaning, entertaining, cooking, cleaning, refereeing, reasoning, begging, bargaining, bribing, cleaning, errands, cleaning, cooking, bathing, more reasoning and bargaining until the eventual and most welcome bedtime.

1.29.18 to 2.10.18 - Birthday and More!
A collection of photos from late January to mid February.

2.13.18 - Dark Brings Forth Light
So whats next? Well, I’ll tell you...next week is currently slated to be her last week of chemotherapy treatment. Five horribly, torturous days with extra shitty (pun intended!) side effects is how we’re going to end this thing. After that, she gets some time to rest (about a month) before we can scan again. That will put us right back where we were almost a year ago.

3.15.18 - Soft Launch Announcement
In addition to raising funds to help with Emery’s medical expenses we are excited to announce that we will be putting a portion of them into a new cause. With our young but fierce porcelain warrior at the helm, we are in the process of launching our very own non-profit foundation, to be called Emmy’s Friends.

3.16.18 - Opinionated Chia Pet
We leave Sunday for Denver in preparation for early morning scans Monday at Childrens Hospital. This is the big day. These scans (MRI, CT, PET-CT) will paint a good picture of where we're at, a month out from treatment.

3.18.18 - On the Eve of Scans
One thing is certain. In the morning, the Earth will be covered in that fresh layer of pure white, and it will sparkle in the sunlight.
